Customer Appreciation Day Delivers Family-Friendly Interactive Displays and Supports Cell Phones for Soldiers
Naples, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2011) – Kings Lake Goin’ Postal will hold an inaugural family-friendly customer appreciation day Saturday, December 3 to collect gently-used cell phones to benefit troops overseas. Families can enjoy interactive displays from local businesses and donate cell phones of any make or model to the national nonprofit Cell Phones for Soldiers.
“We wanted to host an event that will allow families in Naples to enjoy spending time together and learn about all the great things our local businesses have to offer,” said Ed Metz of Goin’ Postal. “And to create that same family connection for military families, we are encouraging our guests to donate their cell phones at our event.”
Donated phones will be recycled by Cell Phones for Soldiers, a nonprofit that turns gently-used cell phones into prepaid calling cards for troops stationed overseas. Since the charity’s inception, more than 114 million minutes have connected military families during deployments, made possible by more than 8.3 million recycled cell phones.
“We are thankful for having Goin’ Postal on board to host such a fun event,” said Bob Bergquist, president of Cell Phones for Soldiers. “Each phone donation truly does make a difference for a military family struggling with deployment.”
Families attending customer appreciation day can enjoy interactive displays by The Home Depot, Naples Fire Department, Naples Sherriff’s Department, get their photo taken with Santa and much more. The event is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
