Young men and women who serve our country do so willingly. However, they give up so much control in their lives. It is most difficult to be away over the holidays and being able to speak directly is so important. Even with calling cards, the minutes are used in multiples, based on the country in which they are stationed. Any help will be wonderful. Many, like our son who is with the Navy supporting a Marine helicopter squadron, is often at sea. Cell phones are not allowed so calling cards would be a special treat.

We are a very close family and couple and this is the first time that we have been apart for so long since he is going to be there for a year. This is the first time since we have been together that we are going to spend Christmas not able to see each other and for both of us this is really painfull. But we need to deal with it and the only way that we can communicated is when he has access to call me. This is why it means so much to us to have this privilage for the Holidays.

We would like to make this donation in my grandmother's name, Edna Koogler. She was a military wife and has been very active in putting together "care packages" for soliders since the begining of this war. She's solicited donations from stores and individuals and even made some of the items she shipped to the middle east. Maj. Cooper has been the person who helped her distribute her packages to troops. Edna has recently had back surgery and has been unable for a few months to continue her package sending. We hope this donation will allow Maj. Cooper and perhaps others to be in touch with their friends and families so far away during this time of year when those things are so special.

We hope he will be home soon they have stopped them from recieving packages for now, but he will leave again 30 days after being home for another tour except this time to Afganistan. My husband and I have been married 4yrs. and only been together a year and a half of those four years. We also have a special needs son who is 3 and he has only seen his daddy for a short time. I am not able to work so my husband has to keep volunteering for deployments so having money to call home with is very slim. We are so thankful for the internet cafes and also very thankful for people like you. I hope yall have a merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Thank you so much for your time!! I hope you can help. It is her first Christmas and I know how much it hurts Anthony he cant be here with us; his family, but he is a very courageous man and knows his duty, even if he has to make big sacrefices. I wish he could be here, reading us a Christmas story or sing with us...maybe we can talk on the phone on Christmas...and he can hear his daughter giggling :)

It means a lot to me and my kids to be able to talk to him during this time. This is our first time apart for this long. Our children miss him so much and love it when they get to talk to their daddy.
