En Route to Germany!
Dear Friends,
As you may know, Robbie and I founded Cell Phones for Soldiers back in 2004. It has been such an amazing experience and one that continues to exceed expectations.
This week, Robbie and I are flying to Germany to visit three bases: Ramstein, Schweinfurt and Baumholder. We are so excited to meet with our deployed heroes and spend time with a long-time supporter, Santa Rita Wine. Since coming on board, Santa Rita has raised enough revenue for the program to send 2.5 million minutes of talk time overseas.
While in Germany, Santa Rita will be introducing us to Army and Air Force Exchange (AAFES) representatives.
Here’s a look at what we’ll be doing…
Thursday – We land at 5:30 a.m. (ouch!) and then travel to USAG Schweinfurt. While on base, we will hand out calling cards, participate in a wine tasting courtesy of Santa Rita and meet with MWR (morale, welfare and recreation) representatives. That evening Cell Phones for Soldiers also will sponsor a dinner for about 120 of our heroes!
Friday – Friday will be a very busy day! We start by touring one of Santa Rita’s wineries – Blue Fish. Then we will head to U.S. Army Garrison, Baumholder. While at Baumholder we will have the chance to hand out more free calling cards and tour the barracks!
Saturday – In the afternoon, Cell Phones for Soldiers and Santa Rita are throwing a big event at KMCC on Ramstein Air Base! We will host a military appreciation event including free calling cards, a special presentation and reception courtesy of Santa Rita wine!
It’s going to be quite the trip! Be sure to visit the blog again soon for an update!
Best regards,
