Since 2006, Cell Phones for Soldiers has partnered with the world’s leading electronics sustainability firm, ReCellular, to process and manage its cell phone recycling efforts.

The decision to work with ReCellular was an easy one for founders Robbie and Brittany Bergquist. The organization was known for its innovative solutions for collecting, reusing and responsibly recycling gently-used mobile phones and proved to be a perfect partner for the evolution of Cell Phones for Soldiers.

 The powerhouse relationship has allowed Cell Phones for Soldiers to grow exponentially since 2006, processing hundreds of thousands of phones a year.

 While one in three Americans will replace their cell phones this year, adding to the 500 million unused phones currently waiting to be discarded or recycled, ReCellular is dedicated to collecting those phones as an invaluable fundraising element for Cell Phones for Soldiers.

 Based in Dexter, Michigan, ReCellular manages customer service support for those wanting to donate phones, drop-off locations, reporting on the success of the program, and the actual recycling and repurposing of the phones. Needless to say, they do a lot to generate valuable funds, and Cell Phones for Soldiers couldn’t be more thankful for their ongoing support.

 Thanks to the assistance and hard work of ReCellular, Cell Phones for Soldiers has preserved 8.3 million phones to date from ending up in landfills and contributed more than 114 million minutes of free talk time to troops overseas.
